September, 2013 - Dayco Australia announces its entry into the Harmonic Balancer, Pulley and Overrunning Alternator Pulley (OAP) market through the acquisition of Precision Parts Pty Ltd.

Precision Parts Pty Ltd, an Australian-based company that manufactures Harmonic Balancers, Performance Balancers, Engine Idler pulleys and Overrunning Alternator Pulleys for the automotive aftermarket industry, is now an integral part of Dayco Australia’s highly successful Automotive Aftermarket operations.

Precision Parts is a leader in Harmonic Balancer manufacturing, producing an extensive range of products marketed under the POWERBOND brand.

Precision Parts also manufactures NULINE engine pulleys with a manufacturing range that has grown rapidly from just 14 part numbers to more than 196.

Upon completion of the acquisition, Dayco Australia adds Harmonic Balancers to its extensive range of automotive aftermarket products, which includes serpentine belts, v-belts, timing belts and timing component kits, tensioners, pulleys and hoses.

“Precision Parts’ POWERBOND and NULINE brands are highly recognised in both the Australian and North American aftermarkets. We are excited to add this well respected line of products to Dayco’s current automotive aftermarket product offering,” said Ed Rammel, P resident of the North American and Australian Aftermarket divisions of Dayco.

Headquartered in Wagga Wagga (NSW), Precision Parts was established in 1976 and has grown to become a dominant supplier of Automotive Harmonic Balancers and Engine Pulleys to the Australian Aftermarket. The bulk of the Precision Parts product range is targeted at the standard replacement market, but there is also a market for high performance balancers globally. To cater to this market, Precision launched the POWERBOND performance balancer range utilizing advanced bonded dampening technology. This achieved instant market success both in Australia and in the United States. POWERBOND continues to be the fastest growing balancer brand in the U.S. performance market.

Precision Parts will report to Dayco Australia Managing Director Arnold Mouw and will continue to operate from the Wagga Wagga manufacturing facility in Say Street, ensuring the future for this successful regional Australia based manufacturing operation.

Dayco Australia will be able to offer additional distribution and access to its wide range of parts as a direct result of this acquisition. Dayco Australia does not foresee any changes to the current distribution channels and looks forward to expanding the company’s premium quality aftermarket range offering.

Dayco Australia will distribute the POWERBOND and NULINE product lines through its established distribution channels.
